Malad Gorge State Park
Malad Gorge State Park sits between Bliss and Tuttle, Idaho and it runs under I84. It is a small park, but the Malad Gorge is quite unique and the short hike around the rim of the canyon is very pleasant with nice views.
Take the Tuttle exit from the freeway and then turn to the west. Turn left when you reach Ritchie Road. Take this road to the parking lot at the end.
There is a bridge which spans the Malad River. For some reason, the placed the bridge right on top of the most interesting parts of the canyon. After crossing the bridge, there is a hiking trail which goes around the rim.
In the center of the following photo you can see a vertical strip of darker rocks. When the water is flowing higher, this is a roaring waterfall.
Large fish below a small dam at the bottom of the gorge. I suspect they are carp, but not sure. Very clear water
