Owyhee Arms

One of the fundamental rights of all individuals is the right to protect themselves, their families, and members of their community from injury or potential death due to assaults. Law enforcement has been created as a deterrent against crime and usually, good-hearted people and police presence are enough to prevent violence.  However, realize that when seconds count, the police are only minutes away and in the event of a major disaster, or depending upon your location, those minutes might turn into hours or days. You may need to rely upon yourself for protection and you will most likely benefit from having a firearm at hand to aid with providing this protection.

Owyhee Arms provides educational information and training on basic firearm use.  The intended audience for this training is the prospective or new gun owner who is faced with the desire to learn much in an industry filled with misinformation.  Understanding how firearms work, the chemistry of internal ballistics, the physics of external ballistics, and the effect of terminal ballistics requires more than one lifetime of learning.   Owyhee Arms will provide the novice with the knowledge required to make informed decisions regarding the selection of firearms and how to use that equipment.  The goal is to train the basics so that the new shooting enthusiast may chart a path forward to being a responsible gun owner.

Owning a firearm is a right that has been granted to American citizens by the founders of this country.  However, firearm owners have a responsibility to be trained well and should update this training routinely; much the same as what is required for operating a motor vehicle anywhere within the United States.  It is critical that firearms owners understand their equipment, how to use it well, how to care for it, and the regulations on its operation.

Providing this education is the mission of Owyhee Arms.
