Bigfoot Field Reports - Page 4

Note that the following are responses to an advertisement placed in Craigslist regarding personal Bigfoot encounters.  None of these responses have been edited for content, grammar, punctuation, or spelling.  I wanted to make sure that their experiences were reported exactly as they were communicated to me.  The dates shown represent when I received the report, not when it occurred.

You shouldnt be ridiculed for something that is 100% Absolutley real!! Modern science has overlooked this Cryptozooligical hominid!! But it is real!! I was never a believer until I had experienced FIRST-HAND my own encounter.im former law-enforcement and 16 year military vet. I even have photographic evidence that is unexplainable.I could share my story of this time I worked patrol for a local indian reservation...for a small donation.if you wish to hear more...let me know.thanks!

Leave them alone and stop talking about them for your own pleasure unless you want to exploit or destroy a rare species. Think about it.

Hello well thanks for responding. The conference sounds interesting. I've not attended one yet.  My knowledge of these forest people or critters whatever you want to call them are only from my personal experience. You can't help forming theories and speculations about them thats part of Bigfoot game. I'm pretty level headed about  them. I know 100% that they exist. I'm not sure anything I've experienced would be any different than what you gathered from others on your quest for squatch knowledge but in that area I have my own beliefs and ideas

I don't mine sharing one. Looking back at what I experienced and knowing what I know now  I was so nieve. But the incident seems a little comical now and back then I just didn't know what I was looking at.

I think dolphins and  elephants can emit sound waves we can't hear. I have had many sightings and foot prints found. Large and small. Two very close encounters and other family members as well starting in 1920s in the Pacific Northwest.

The Ranier one only guessing maybe 10 ft or a little more. The Sierra one  pretty close 6 to 9 ft. First one we were at same blueberry bush. Second one nothing but air between us.

The most recent one in the beginning of July was yards away running to keep up with my vehicle in a forest where branches had been cut up to a certain height. It was too tall so it was bent in half running in the forest. I slowed down because I couldn't believe what I was seeing and when I stopped completely it stepped behind a tree. So I moved up a little to look around and see if I could see it around the tree. I thought I saw it step to the next tree. The tree's were pretty close together. I thought I'm to old for this and drove on. I don't know how far I drove but I stopped and cut bunches of sage so I was there at least an hour. On a whim I was making loud whistling off and on. Never expected a response. And bless it's heart I heard whoooop!. The p sound on the end was very pronounced. My thought at the time was, can coyotes make the p sound? What animal can use it's lips to make the p sound. I thought great here I am by myself . I read where people see them sway back and forth so I did that and shortly thereafter is when I head whoooop.

Didn't feel anything. Finished bagging up sage and left.

Ok no problem. I haven't found anyone to go back up there. I think their chicken. By the way I'm a senior citizen and my hair has always been dark and very long so I believe the squatch  people feel comfortable with me and don't run away.

I was camping in NW Montana a few years ago, prob 10 or 11 at night (dark with 1/2 moon). I could see reflections on lake from where I was. Heard LOUD howl/scream and a second later huge splash in lake only a hundred foot from me. Saw splash and resulting ripples /waves from huge rock that was thrown in. A few seconds later same thing howl and I saw rock fly up n into water prob 20-30 foot out. Rock I'm guessing  weighed in around 75-100 lbs. A few seconds later same thing. Saw rock and splash. Never saw it again. I did go look in morning and saw where 2 of the rocks were pulled from the earth. That's how I guess size as numerous rocks this size (15-20" dia) we're all around. Didn't see but a couple smudges that could LOOSELY be called foot prints. I will never forget the howl scream from that night.. I  don't tell a lot of people about this as I don't want to be labled a fool.this was the only time I have been scared in the mountains and I always went out by myself. Seen big bears, mountain lions, Badgers, avalanches, people, and numerous other things I should be worried about, but this night flat scared me. Was in mid September of 1998. Hope this helps   thanks for your time.

Ask yourself....why are the only temperate continent without a primate?

Mega fauna crossed the Bering Sea land bridge.....gigantopithecus was a mega fauna primate in China where many species evolved.

Large mammals in North America developed core body mass to tolerate cold climates. Moose, muskoxen, polar bear, elk, walrus......it is an evolutionary adaptation to conserve body heat to weather winter

EVERY mammal on the native totems exist (or did.....such as Thunderbird which was a condo).....check out the totems out of BC.

Yes.....probably 98% of reports are erroneous or hoax. But too many lifelong backwoods travelers know nothing makes the calls these creatures make....read up on the vocalizations of oragangutans.......it would take a FEV1 and FEV2 respiratory flow in excess of any known Boreal mammal to effect such a call.  Plus the FEV2 to maintain a low modulated call below human hearing ranges which they are also reported to emit (identical to the location harmonics of elephants.....5-10hz.)

So no skeletons or carcasses have been found?!?......it can be explained easier than where all the list plains and hikers remain are located in the Cascades.  Hunters in florescent orange carrying firearms who get lost and remains are never located should be relatively easy to locate compared to a seclusive primal creature that likely shelters under remote  rocky overhangs and in caves. Look up the report in Natl Geo about the early hominids who recently were reported to toss their dead into pits in caves

I'm not some kook....I was raised by a a research scientist, a federal magistrate, an MD and make my living in the medical field.

I have explored all over the Cascades (Goat Rocks, Gifford Pinchot and St Helens areas)and Olympics (Upper Hoh, Sol Duc, Ozette and coastal wilderness areas).

Im an avid hunter and fisherman with a lifetime of experience. A self taught naturalist who has seen and heard nearly all the creatures of this area.

I live in the forest interface near Mt Rainier

I have studied this creature for decades. There IS a primate / hominid in the back country of the NW US and Western Canada. When modern science takes a serious look they will discover what's out there.

But that's not likely to happen any time soon. There is a tremendous amount of US reserves and economy tied up in our forests. To put limits and restrictions on our forests would have major impacts on our economy. Consider the gypsy moth, elm beetle, pine beetle, marbled murlett and spotted owl.  They closed or damaged huge sections of our forests which had major impacts on the timber industry.

Now consider the closures related to a wide ranging primate / hominid linked to man through genetics???

Federal research grants might be kind of tough to get approved....

Okay....enough rambling. Hope this is what you were looking for.

Likewise I lived all things natural as a kid. Was raised just outside Seattle with lots of farms, orchards and creeks to explore. Read constantly and fished/hunted in the Cascades since an early age. Learned to track and identify all sorts of creatures

Ive worked in the medical field since 1980. Learned to critically think so while devouring data on sasquatch I quickly glean through the questionable reports

My field experiences mostly center on the western edge of the Goat Rocks Wilderness. My first contact was in the early 70's and involved territorial demonstrations near a high alpine lake....screams, vegetation tearing and debris throwing.  Scare the crap out of my father (federal magistrate).

The second was in the late 90's on the same topographical contour roughly one mile south of the original interaction. Elk hunting and sitting by our evening fire at the end of a remote spur. Again had screaming, chattering and debris tossed from the edge of a thick overgrown former clear-cut. Withdrew to our truck to experience assorted vocalizations through the night

A third occurrence was down slope roughly two miles to the south. Winched my Jeep into some blocked off former spur roads to access a hole on the Upper Cispus River. Found large footprints in a washed out section of the road. Heard movement in the timber but didn't seem odd as there was abundant fresh bark stripping by black bears.  But when we were leaving there was a rancid rotten musky smell.  Not like a bear in rut but like wet death (as an experienced firefighter / medic I know this smell).  So got out and explored some disturbed soil on a berm.  Took several steps and my wife said she heard something moving thru the timber upslope.  Then I felt a vibration. Felt queazy and had a sense I was being watched.  My wife wanted me and my rifle back in the rifle RIGHT NOW. I could hear something slowly backing off as I walked back to the rig.

Five years later I had a nocturnal experience at the lake. Camping with my young girls I was awakened to loud knocks. Soon cones began to hit the tent. This went on for twenty minutes or so. I woke the girls and we packed up and left in the dark.

Have had three close encounters in this same drainage since then.  Screams, chatter at night and rumbling growls. I know all the owl vocalizations, cats and porcupines, bear sounds and this area has one way in and out. The migratory trails for ungulates run from the alpine lake down the ridge and into this drainage. It makes sense that this could easily be the same creature from years past

Though there are reports of "nests" my studies and experiences lead me to think these are transient structures. I'm pretty certain they utilize caves and rock overhangs. This area has perfect geological formations to promote their use.

There are also similar behavioral reports over the decades within 20 miles of this location. Several on the plateau above the basalt canyon on White Pass sound like the same creature. Would be well within a potential territory for a creature of this size. That canyon would also provide seclusion and shelter as it's a rugged decent ( have slid and crawled in a couple times to fish the upper Clear Fork of the Cowlitz River.......have seen fisher in the upper reaches)

Last note for this email......have never felt in danger but this presumed male sasquatch was obviously suggesting I vacate his territory. He's likely seen me repeatedly over the years as I hunt and travel solo through the timber and drainages of this area. I don't want to push this creature as I think the dark timber north of the lake is it's core territory.  But I want to explore it to see if there are caves / overhangs. Just concerned it might consider this as aggression which would likely change the dynamic.  Based on the vocalizations and physical aspects of it's displays, it's a very large creature. I've had to stop a predatory black bear charge at close range. I don't want want to ever face that sort of fury from a creature of this size

Had a chance to speak with several Quileute families out near Forks, WA (on the coast on the western Olympic Peninsula). The men were scared of sasquatch. Several shared threatening encounters. They get out of the woods if they think one is in the area. May demonstrate that they have differing behaviors just like humans

I've spent a lot of time in prime habitat. The upper Cispus River lies slightly east in between My Rainier and Mt Adams near the borders of Skamania and Lewis counties. It's backdrop is the Goat Rocks Wilderness. Remote yet laced with old spur roads right up to the wilderness boundaries. So four plus decades in this area is bound to present opportunities

You asked about my thoughts on species identification.  Well I think there are three probable hominids involved. Most likely Gigantopithecus based on Krantz's research. Large omnivore with the most recent anthropological history. It's fossil remains in China would pose easy migration to Siberia and the land bridge. Large body mass equates to core thermal reserves in winter (doubt it completely hibernates....seeks thermal stability of caves)....large jaw and short cervical spine (leads to an image of no neck)

Some Alaskan / BC sightings look facially like Zinjanthropus. Another hominid with the mandibles to process high volumes of vegetation similar to gorillas. Small eyes, elongated face and

Likely sagittal Crest similar to Gigantopithecus

Last thought is my own hypothesis. With numerous credible sightings in tribal and coastal areas (also limited sightings in rural settings) of a small stature creature.....I think there may also me Homo Erectus involved. This human sized hominid would be well adapted to islands and coastal areas not impacted by severe winter's. It would also be pushed out of areas populated by a large hominid.  This was a evolved hominid so would have the intelligence to adapt to fringe habitat in proximity of humans. Likely to also possess a more refined opposed thumb explaining some reports of gripping and manipulating things. These may be the nesting creatures found in lower level forests

Still think Gigantopithecus is the most likely Bigfoot of the mountains.  But hard to refute the small creatures that do not act like awkward juveniles. Nor the fact that mammals of larger stature frequently evolve into a smaller subspecies on islands and coastal areas (local examples are Sitka blacktail and wolves on Vancouver Island)

As for photos......only hypothesis may be higher evolved senses. Game cameras emit both ultrasonic sounds in their circuitry as well as light even in infrared. They are frequently mounted slightly above human height .... directly in line of sight of an eight foot creature with accentuated nocturnal vision. Ask any hunter if they have had cameras stolen. It's because you can see the LED light at night

But in reality they are likely very scent oriented. Scent masking is an art and nearly impossible without knowledge of airflow. Now hike in.....set up the camera....climb to install it....and test it....then hike out. It leaves a lot of scent in a given area. Then add the smell of a plastic camera, nylon tree straps and lead acid batteries. All foreign scents

Keep in mind the bad smell they create is a communication to other creatures. It transmits fear / anger just as in gorillas. My summation is that they have scenting abilities equal or exceeding their nocturnal vision. It would be critical to location of food and others in the forest at night.

Well.....off to read.

Good points of consideration. Many tribes venture beliefs that this is a supernatural being. Cannot refute it as I've experienced near death experiences with patients in the fire service that exceed conventional scientific concepts

One physical issue that points towards supernatural abilities is it's resistance to high powered shots by skilled hunters. They seem to be impervious to some significant hits from powerful cartridges. But then again....I've seen elk run miles after being shot through both lungs with a .338.

Again.......good points to ponder

In August I'm going back into the area of the low frequency rumbling. Plan to camp so will see what comes to check me out

I'll be hunting bear using the heavy timbered plateau above the river for my base camp. Tons of big bear on the berry patches but have never seen any sign of them in the flat where I've run into the hairy man.  Don't think they like them

If you want to look at the areas I've been referencing you could Google or Bing some of the following

Chambers Lake (Lewis County)

   First encounter and nocturnal

    camping encounter

Walupt Lake

Upper region of Cispus River drainage

    Borders Goat Rocks Wilderness

Forest Service Road 21 Gifford Pinchot

Access to the area and runs through

    prime habitat

Chambers Creek Falls (Lewis County)

Drops into the flat where I heard the

    rumblings

Horseshoe Lake (Skamania County)

Lots of sightings in this area

    historically.

How's it going? Have you had any encounters? I've spent many years in the backcountry of the sierras and have had many interesting encounters. Now I live in Southern Oregon and have heard some things around our property. And, there's been a few stories of things happening in this area.

Hi, i believe they exist. How old are you?  they live in caves.

Well for one when i was a kid one crossed the road in front of of ,my sister almost hit it. It was a huge black hairy beast on two legs and it looked scary. It was like crippled. I believe a hundred percent.  Thanks

I have seen Bigfoot back in the 1970's in the Rocky Mountains.  Freaked me out.  I was driving to Denver Colorado.  On the way in the Rocky Mountains I had to make a pit stop.  I pulled my car over parked and got out and headed toward the trees to go to relieve myself.  I started walking back to the car and all of a sudden I heard something noise and movement shuffling near the trees.  I turned and looked and I was shocked.  I saw him or her.  Standing there watching me the whole time.  FREAKED ME OUT.  I ran as fast as I could to my car and burned rubber out of there.  I know they exist because I have seen Big Foot up close.  Big Foot  is huge.  I did not notice any smell as it had been raining.

I was 20.  I am now 63.  Everytime I go to the mountains I get leary.  Coffee Creek,  Trinity,  Weaverville I have heard stories.  But I assure you mine is the truth they DO EXIST.

Take care,

Hey, I've got a pretty unbelievable Bigfoot Experience that lasted many hours. I'm also a researcher interested in discussion. If you need help with a situation I can assist. Thanks..

Hey Bruce, I don't know if I told you my experience but here's the summary:

Camping in Big Sur, CA in 2012 alone with only me year old pitbull puppy in heat, first night I went to sleep and within 20 or 30 minutes something came crashing through the woods towards me. I could hear it from about a quarter mile away and thinking it's a bear or elk I loaded my weapons as I know animals can smell a female in heat. The sound was breaking 2-3" or bigger branches, and its path just went past my camo then it became dead silent. It was dead silent before this started also, which had put me on alert. I was sitting there listening and after a few seconds or minute of silence, this animal started walking up to my camp. It had stopped at most 50-75 yards away, then I could hear clear bipedal footfalls, that sounded extremely heavy walking up on me.

Thinking it was a bear or elk then hearing bipedal footsteps, freaked me the fuck out to be plainly honest. This now went from an animal threat to a human threat in my mind, but I was still extremely confused and I felt a fear greater than before or after this event. I yelled out once, it stopped then started walking again. A second time I yelled out and said, "I have a weapon and will use it who are you." The walking stopped and started again. At this point I could only figure this was a guerrilla marijuana farmer because I was in rather remote forest, one fire trail in and out. This "guy" came barreling out of the forest uphill...

After it kept walking up on me, I cocked my sidearm and listened. My dog was more scared than ever. As this thing walked past my tent my gun was following the noise, ready to blow holes in my own tent. It stopped about 20-40 feet away, and it got quiet. After minutes or what seemed like hours of me assessing my options, I got the balls to go out. I gave a verbal warning, and heard this thing do a quick movement. At this point, I stuck my Glock out and fired 3 warning shots into a tree then yelled aggressively. I heard again something walking, seemingly unafraid, and that's what scared me. Anything that walks like a human but doesn't talk, came out if the woodwork and isn't afraid of gunshots and the things I was saying is crazier than I can comprehend. I waited, thought it had left, then heard it again. Something outside my tent, between myself and my car, watching me. My dread turned into courage, I got my shotgun and stepped out. When I had got out of the tent, in the pitch black I had seen a very large shadow go into the further darkness. This was too much for my comfort, and whether it was the right thing to do or not I started firing my 12 gauge at this thing while yelling and walking towards it. I sat and had a cigarette while thinking I had done a good job. Got back in my tent, where after just a few minutes I heard it again. At this point I was mentally defeated and said screw it. I sat there with my weapons, trying to hold my dog who was shaking so intensely I couldn't hear anything outside my tent. For hours I heard one to two creatures moving, communicating, and observing me from outside my tent. Things were thrown, noises were made, and I was just sitting there scared. I'm an insomniac, so this is weird, but at some point I drifted into a hypnotic sleep. I woke up still sitting with my weapons. I checked the area and found nothing. I think some food was taken but I couldn't find any evidence. I took my dog for a quick walk before leaving because she hadn't got to stretch her legs or anything for a long time. As soon as I started walking her, I could hear something stalking me. I was completely fed up at this point, I figured I don't have much to lose. Every time I would walk then stop, something to my rear right side would stop a half second after. I made my dog run the one way by pretending to run as well, I ran a few feet, stopped, pivoted at the stalking sound, and started firing from my Glock while advancing towards the sound. I'll tell you that me running towards this thing with my handgun did the trick, and my stalker bolted directly away from me so I could never catch a good sight of it.

This all truly happened to me. I'd love to hear your thoughts or anything. I haven't gone in the deep woods since and my dog as well as myself are traumatized by this event.

**************************************

 April 6, 2017

I wouldn't have heard it except I was freezing all night and awake the entire night.

I heard 2 whacks of a stick against a tree. Once. Then seconds later a second one.  I was terrified but amazed too.

Difficult to tell I was in thick timber. The direction it came from was complete wilderness. I have returned to that site and walked back into the area the sound came from to see if a logical human explanation could be made.

The sound came out of nowhere. There was one distinct whack of a large stick/log against a tree. I knew about wood knocks so the first one made me jump out of my skin when only seconds later there was a second wood knock. So, yeah, I went from being quite skeptical but with an open mind to absolutely certain Bigfoot exists.

Thanks for your interest.  Keep looking.

I've never seen a Bigfoot, even though I spend a major amount of my time out in the wilds of Idaho . That's not to say that they're not out there ,  I just haven't seen one.  I did have a strange night incident, while hunting in central Idaho two years ago. My Dad and I , were asleep in my truck camper out on private, gated land.  It was extremely cold that night , around 8 degrees, and our furnace wasn't working so without a generator everything was quiet.  My Dad wears hearing aids and can't hear anything when he takes em out at night and I'm a sound sleeper - like a rock sleeper.  So anyway, about an hour or so after going to bed , I had a sudden awakening,  or an " awareness " ,  that jolted me awake.  Have you ever been so tired , that you can hear your alarm , or people trying to get you up, and you just can't seem to move or open your eyes ?  Well, let me tell you it was an unnerving feeling that I was having.  Something HUGE , was passing by the outside of the camper.  I didn't see it , or feel it - I sensed it !  My Dad was sitting up but he didn't say anything, so I just fell back to sleep. The next morning I asked him if he'd slept okay.  At first he didn't say much, just kinda mumbled something about , he might believe in Bigfoot.  He later told me that he didn't know what, or who it was outside , but that It sounded like a person talking to himself.  Well, I know for sure whatever he was hearing ,  it would had to have been extremely loud.  I also know that my Dad is retired Forest Service and spent more years than you can imagine cruising timber and sleeping out in the woods. Nothing bothers him !  He knows every sound of every animal or creaking of tree .  But this sound ... he never heard anything like it . We looked for tracks that day,  but the ground was frozen.  Who knows what was out there that night ?  Whatever it was , I'll never forget the way it made me feel .

Hello,

You'll get no ridicule from me.  My wife a run-in with the big guy over 20 years ago and I've found tracks in my area.

I'm looking for others who have had experiences in Montana.  I know this is far from your area but you never know what will come of making contacts.

When she was in high school she and some friends were playing team hide and seek in the forest behind her house.  They were hearing loud steps in the woods and they thought it was the other team.  They yelled out for them to stop, that they knew it was them.. The other team came from the opposite direction  and they thought it was here team.  About then they heard a gurgling sound.  My wife turned and saw a “giant man with a fur coat on”  long arms almost to the knees and large reflective eyes.

Everyone took off running.  She ran into a barbed wire fence and carries the scar as a reminder today.

She also heard a vocalization near the same area not long after.

She had no idea what bigfoot was so she had nothing to compare it against.  After I questioned her about it, it started to make sense.

Hope this helps in some way.

I'm glad people are open, even with the few negative responses I think the experiences people share carry much more weight. There was a Finding Bigfoot episode for the Klamath Tribes that I loved, I live in KFalls and am a descendant. I really feel that the science community is headed in the right direction of taking notice more and oh gosh I can't remember his name, but he started a DNA project where people can send in samples (collected properly)...I also remember a Monster Quest episode in which some people where in Canada at a remote cabin and had put a board with nails up as deterrent for bears...the gentleman came back and had found blood and hair...tested and it came back closest they could match was to human and primate/ape...These things and the stories I have heard even from my Grandma about how while camping/hunting the children especially were told to NEVER venture out of camp esp. at night and not out of the campfire light...she said she never thought of it as being due to known animals but a sense of unknown and something to respect and have reverence for what was out there. I really hope you continue to get more stories of peoples experiences...there are many who will not come forward even anonymously though I think with more shows and research done more are willing to share.

I have no clue why I have always been fascinated by this topic, even if I feel uneasy to go to certain areas or would feel a bit off I think if I actually saw one myself, though I don't know for sure what I would do to be honest. My grandma had a person who had a LOT to lose if their experience got out due to their position, but this person had a family member harmed by a bigfoot really badly they said they could not get the smell of it off of the person either... so since hearing this I really am a bit more cautious. I hope you find people willing to open up and tell their experiences, it's a very interesting subject and one I am glad has come into more attention.

I haven't myself had an experience though I do believe in bigfoot. My Dad who lived on Onion Mountain for a couple of years out of his camper took me and his fiancé and her daughter up to the road block. He then told me how he had been walking up past that blockade in winter the previous season and had found huge barefoot man like prints, I locked my 7 year old self in his truck and wouldn't open it until we were leaving. If you are interested in reading I would recommend the Missing 411 (Western United States is one I am reading) series by David Paulides, if you do look into his books make sure to go to Canam website, official one...not amazon as they are waaay over priced and nothing goes back to him as far as money. I guess being Native in part has me leary of going and looking for a Sasquatch but I have always been fascinated by bigfoot all over the world.

My grandfather carved the feet that were used in that Infamous California video many many years ago. Look up the Wallace Brothers. It was Ray Wallace's wife in that suit.  They were getting vandalized heavily and they decided to take matters into their own hands and scare the environmentalists away

Ray was my grandfather's logging buddy. Honestly I don't know the details on the suit. Just that my grandfather had the feet carved. You can research Wallace on Wikipedia I believe. Not all of the detail is there, but more than I've shared.

There is no such thing as big feet but people sure have a lot of fun pretending.

I'm sure you probably think this is a ridiculous email, so if you discount a completely I wish you the best and all of your searching
