Hi, not sure if this is noteworthy, but a few summers ago myself and my then 9 year old son were in Washington, out hiking in the foot hills forest of Mt. St Helens where we came across a very large human like bare foot print in some dried mud, between some dense trees. I could have passed this off as a hoax, but from where we were, it was not likely.

I wish I could say that I have seen one first hand, but my girlfriend and her friend saw one up near Garden Valley Idaho about 8 years ago while they were fishing.  They had the feeling they were being watched and saw one looking from behind a tree. He would duck when it looked like the girls were looking directly in his direction but would come from behind the tree if they didn't make it obvious that they were looking.  My girlfriend is a down to earth woman and was around 35 when she saw this creature.   I totally believe that they exist because I have read numerous accounts of these creatures and watched a lot of documentaries. I have heard people give detailed accounts on radio talk shows also.   Some people have even had physical evidence but the creatures are very intelligent and usually hide well. I think mainstream science doesn't know where to place them so they don't think they exist.   There are many other things that are real and exist even though we may not have witnessed them first hand.   I can't stand the term "skeptic" when there is overwhelming evidence and hundreds of first hand accounts over many years and for this reason I believe in the evidence and accounts of others. Not everyone is a lying story teller, right?  Oh well, enough of my rambling. If you want to make a comment or write back feel free. I'm kinda bored till the weather warms up.

I had just the one encounter.
   

It's been a few years since I've been back in that area but I never "looked" for Bigfoot even on my visits there. Since my encounter was in my childhood, and I didn't know the hype associated with it, my take on Bigfoot is different than most. I don't have a need to seek him out, to see him again.

If you have seen Bigfoot, you will know it undoubtedly. There should be no uncertainty. 

I am from what I consider to be original Bigfoot country, Willow Creek CA. I had an encounter when I was younger. There is no doubt in my mind that Bigfoot is real. The memory is very vivid all these years later. I was serious when I said Bigfoot finds you. I know a few people that go out looking for Bigfoot, they are not the ones that he will make his presence known. They want it so bad, that is where all these made up sightings, footprints, etc come from.

As a young kid, I lived in a home right along the forest line in Willow Creek. I was always told by my parents not to cross the make shift fence and head into the forest. Well, I went into the forest many times, always alone. Each time, I would venture a little further. One day I was walking in the forest, looking at the trees, the moss and just enjoying being out there. I felt a presence. I looked up and there he/she was, Bigfoot. He was standing upright with just the slightest hunch forward. He seemed as curious about me as I was to him. He looked at me, I stared back at him. It was surreal. There was no odor from him, no sounds. He was gentle. His arms were a little longer than a human. His stature was bigger than a human. His fur was similar to a bear which I had seen many of living where I did. However, there was nothing "bear" about him. We were facing each other, nothing in between us but a little forest greenery, maybe 20ft apart at the most. The whole encounter was about 10 seconds. We both turned away from each other and went our separate ways. I never looked back. As I got closer to the fence I was running, not out of fear but pure adrenaline. I was full of exhilaration. I knew I had just had an extraordinary experience. He had chosen me. Bigfoot had found me.   

I continued to venture into the forest as I enjoyed the beauty and peacefulness it provided. I never looked for Bigfoot, nor thought much about it. I had the simple mind of a child. My experience was mine alone. I never told anyone, not even my parents, as I didn't want my experience to be questioned or ridiculed. I guess that's what  contributes to the elusiveness of Bigfoot.

Hello I live in Klamath falls. just this summer I was in crater lake park, my friends and I heard what sounded like an animal screaming!!!! The curious part this sounded like a gorilla or big ape screaming. What ever it was it was about 200 yards from us we could see brush moving away from us but never saw the animal. I'm 53 and an outdoors person grew up ranching in Colorado . have hunted several states and have never heard anything like it in the woods!!!!

Humm big foot.

Will I had 3 or 4 run in with this guy. Ones a was seting calling in bears over a big black berries pach 2000 hards or bigger. It come in to the call stayed 1000 yards off made noise. Never seen it but I know it was there. Went back the next day this was in deer season killed a dear the day I was hunting bear got a deer and clued big foot up had. Two other with me.  The other two would not go back there. Dumped the guts and stuff off uo there for a bear to eat I was in the process of dropping that off and big foot b was following me a round in the woods I was on a 4 wheeler hew. Stayed 100 foot in front of me going down a mt. About 150 ft of too my right got down to the other two that was with Me wating. At the bottom of the mt. We where going to go hunting. Hr started making niose. And then he come back Circle us about a 1000 yards off .could not see it bit could here it in the brush walking fast this was not a person. Moving way to fast bush was to tick there a person cloud not walk through that brush . So we left I went back up that after noon to where it was the guts was going no bear got them there was nothing fucked up there it was put under two big trees thst had been pushed up I put the guts a round the roots it was 6 foot from the bottom of the roots.. the trees where on top of each other no way a bear could get it out. I seen where it had mad a nuts on the ground bent trees a round in ways that nothing but something  big did it . And not a bear. This was in south western  Or. There been a lot of siting over there. Ups the county works both have see one cross the road. I'm not shere if it will help. I know a lot of people  that's had run in with one in even the county cops there seen one a coos the river at one of the camp grounds he tryed to report  it and got two weeks payed time off and had to see a shrink. It never hit the paper.

Look like a tepee  all most but the trees your 15 to 20 foot twisted to keep it closed up like a tepee

The following in red is my email to the owners of the Geocache on Blue Lake, Idaho.  

- On the Geocaching webpage, there is a geocache on an island on the above alpine lake.  The write-up of the geocache jokes about chasing Bigfoot around the lake.  This may be based on absolutely nothing, but it seems like a HUGE coincidence. (This would be you guys!)

There is an encountered summarized on the internet which talks about another Boy Scout Troop going camping in this same area and the Scoutmaster says he saw a Bigfoot as they drove in.  (by the switchbacks right above Blue Lake, I believe).  Bruce’s inputs to the owners of the geocache.

Haha we made up that story about Bigfoot because we wanted to have a Bigfoot encounter and since we didn't we made up the most unbelievable story we could instead. What are the real Bigfoot stories in the area? I'd love to know!

No I don't think you're crazy. I've always wanted to believe in Bigfoot or that there's truth to the Bigfoot legend in some way. Whether it's a race or a single doomed man-animal with a very long life span.  When we made that geocache during our camping trip I remember us staying up late at the campfire debating Bigfoot and I think it's safe to say we all wanted to believe.

Here's the nutty thing about that summary you just sent me. The thing about the scoutmaster seeing Bigfoot in the trees while driving the switchbacks. That happened to us! My Friend's dad was our scoutmaster. He was one of the most straightforward non BS-ing guys I've ever known. He didn't ever make up stories and was always completely honest. While traveling up on a scout camp in that area and coming around the corner he suddenly said he saw standing in the trees a hairy face looking right back at him. It shook him up a little. He thought the only thing it could be was Bigfoot and he couldn't explain it away.  Either it happened twice or that story you mentioned was us. But how did you hear about it on the internet if it was us? It was about 20 years ago or maybe 22 years ago. Do you have a link to that story? Because now I'm really curious if it's about us.

I talked to my friend Joe today. It was his dad (our scoutmaster) who saw the Bigfoot in the trees in some switchbacks near blue lake. He reminded me that that's why we got on our Bigfoot kick during that particular camping trip when we placed that cache. Joe was in the front seat of their station wagon. I was on that camping trip to but I was in another car. He said his dad suddenly yelled "Whoa! Did you see that!?" No one else saw it. His dad was shook up about it and told us about it when we parked. There's no way he made it up cause he isn't a joker and definitely wasn't the type to make up stories like that.

We are convinced he believes he saw Bigfoot. He questioned himself after but he definitely described seeing a hairy face and big man standing there in the trees staring right at him. 

So I really wonder if this is the same account your taking about and if so how on earth you heard about it. Maybe one of the scouts from our trip recounted it later.

Wow it sure seems like exactly what my friend Joe experienced. I have to find out if he's the one that wrote that.

I shared it with my friend Joe and he forgot he submitted that but it was him. He submitted that in July of 08 right about the same time we hid that cache.

I was in another car at the same time. What a coincidence!

Hello, im jeff and i had a very interesting and scary encounter when i was 11. i would love to share , have you had one and whats your reason for your interest ?

hello Bruce , im 55 and i grew up in the northern part of lower Michigan. My sighting was more of a encounter , i was approached  by a large 7+ foot creature that at the time i had no idea what it was.

I would like to start by telling you the details first that lead to my encounter.

Prior to seeing it  maybe weeks before my little sister would tell my parents in the morning that she saw someone looking into her bedroom window , which was over 6 ft high . i remember mom telling her it was probably a dream. That happened a few times as far as i know .

The day i was approached , it was early afternoon , my older sister was watching me while mom and dad went into the next town.   As soon as they left she always turned up the music on the old record player and threw me outside. I can still remember the record she was playing ..  So i sat on the back porch that over looked the woods that dropped down into a old river bed , there was a path that went from one side to the other. 

The sun was high and bright that day and lite the path very well. As i was setting and looking down that path ,about 50 to 60 yrds down a very large dark figure stepped out, it stood in the path ad its head turned to the right , looking straight at me. After thinking about it for years i think it was the loud music that first attracted it .At first i thought it was a very large person but as it stepped into the path and turned its body towards me i was suddenly so scared i couldnt move.

I sat there motionless long enough to watch it walk closer , maybe 60 ft  until i got up and tried pounding on the door looking back as it got closer . Finally i was so scared i ran to the neighbors home about 3/4 of a mile away. 

What i noticed about it was its long arms , no neck and very dark long hair . 

i had no idea until several yrs later when i was in my early teens what i had seen, the local theater played a movie and the Patterson, Bob Gimlin footage was in it . 

i have told very few about this and the few i have didnt believe me but im getting older and i couldnt care what anyone thinks

Bruce - I have a question.  What do you feel was the animal's disposition?  Was it curious, scared, threatening?  I realize that as a youngster, you may not have noticed; but I am interested.

To me it seemed curious , i think the music first attracted it and when it stepped out onto the path I froze . It seemed to be focused on me then . It approached taking a even pace even when it got closer after i stood up. Like i said earlier , I think it was watching us for some time . 

Have you ever made it to the University of Idaho ? Jeff Meldrum has one of the most extensive collections of casts ..

its been a lot of years since and very much a big part of my life. Always wanted to pursue but never had the time.. Im living in north eastern Washington now , the Bigfoot hot bed and i know there is something out there.

Why are you so afraid of ridicule? I heard the long, ominous howl/scream when I was about 12 y/o sleeping on the deck of my parents cabin, in McCall in about 1960-70. Also pulled up on a freeking family of them late at night while I was living in my camper, parking randomly in the woods behind Meadows rd.At the time I was working at Shore Lodge in the late 70's. Had no flashlight that worked and was screamed at ,in stereo, by the most unearthly sound I have ever heard in my life. They are out there.

My son had a bigfoot experience North of Council Idaho I would like to have someone research the area in June with me that has a like interest in this.

Please respond and we will investigate. I sent an email to ISU but never received a reply.

This incident  involved the throwing of large boulders and a loud scream from across the river. My nephew was a witness and at the time, the boys were 21 years old. My research has shown that most sightings and encounters are seasonal ,this happened in mid June. Call me at 208-566-0532.

Thanks for the reply, I know that there is something to it . I have a friend here in Council with a plane. He is on board and will fly us anywhere for fuel cost.  I too should keep my feet on the ground with my luck, but if and when we find something that needs air research, we have that option.

One summer my wife, two dogs and I boated to the north end of lake Kacheese near Cle Elum off I 90 and set camp below the waterfall.  That night we all woke up to the worst smell I ever smelt in my life!  I felt as if something was right outside the tent and the dogs were very pissed.  We were too scared to go out and look and eventually fell back asleep with the gun close by.  The next morning I searched camp for tracks and found lots of elk sign/tracks but nothing out of the ordinary.  What ever it was it smelled worse than death.  And it was NOT an Elk.  I have been around plenty of bear and they never smelled like this either.

Bruce - That sounds very exciting.  Was the smell gone in the morning?

Yes, the smell was gone and I figured it must have been standing in the creek next to our tent to have not left any tracks. The creek bottom was rocky.  It was interesting the Elk were there though.  They left tracks.  It would be a good spot to go check out.  Only accessible by boat probably 6 to 8 miles from anything man made.  Heavily wooded with Ponderosas and Fir. Great fishing. Elevation probably about 2500 to 3000 feet.

I am afraid to learn what it is.  It seems like it could be "bigger" than meets the eye in the sense that -I feel for some reason like it could be more than just a physical presence.  Don't know if I can explain myself right.  I guess that's what makes it such a mystery and something that a lot of people may have experienced but don't want to talk about if you lnow what I mean?

Thanks for sharing that.  where were you?  My favorite spot is Big Trinity!   Hung out with every animal but squatch (or maybe he just didn't make his presence known...)

I saw Bigfoot walking in Discovery park, Seattle around dusk, it was huge, like a professional basketball player, but fury. Long strides, and exaggerated arm movement during walk cycle. This was about a year ago. It saw me and a friend, but we left because we were scared and it left us alone.

It was about 5 years ago my brother lived up above Walport on 100 acre's of protected land. It was July and he invited us to camp by the creek a couple good blocks Away approximately from the house. My brother's dog would always growl and act like he saw something. I had the creeps like I never had before camping. It was midnight and we had a campfire my sisters Freind was playing his guitar. My brother came after work to join us. All of a sudden we heard a loud noise like a 2 rocks being clacked together just once. The next day I was sitting in my camp chair looking down this gravel road when I saw one cross it. He looked 7 feet tall and had long hair hanging from his arms reminded me of eagles wings. I never believed in them until I seen that.

They are real.

I spend quite a bit of time in the alps! (Trinity Alps) I respect them. More then one story.

There voice carries the wind, there presence is the weight of 10 atmospheres. I was alone and had gotten snowed in and high water was impassible. One came through my camp   I was like a little boy again. It pushed over trees around 6-8 inches thick and alive. This was my first encounter. The argument was over for me!

You have to get in the back country!

No, heard, felt, and experienced it was nighttime. Heard the knocks on several other occasions etc etc.

There was a male and female I believe. I found a place in the pines where the slept I could hear them call to each other there was nobody up here when I got here just animals after a few weeks the animals started to leave on nigh them two left running extremely fast and calling to each other I think they went to the next mountain.

They seem to have moved I don't think they will return. I feel bad about chasing them off all three of us could have been fine here.

Hey, I saw your post on Craigslist, and it caught my attention.  Personally I've been following Bigfoot reports and sightings for the past few years, and had my own footprint sighting near Mt. Rainier in Washington state.  I used to live in that area of Washington, but recently moved out to Missoula, Montana to attend the University in the town.  If you're interested in simply just looking at reliable reports of sightings, vocalizations and prints, I suggest that you go to BFRO.org.  They (the Bigfoot Field Research Organization) have an extensive archive of reports from across the country, and I've found them very useful when conducting my own investigations.  There may be many skeptics and 'non-believers' out there, but there is also so much evidence to support the existence of a Sasquatch like creature here in North America.

Hey,

My name is Mark and I live in Southwest Washington between Seattle and Portland, Oregon. I'm a 52 year old male that is a hunter who has experienced (something) an encounter that I've only shared with very close family members.

To accurately describe the circumstances and details of what took place, this must be explained over the phone.  I have no keyboard other than my cell phone. Would take me forever.  

I am responding to your post with some hesitancy.  I sure you have received all sorts of responses from sightings to those being very skeptical or saying "you're crazy".   I have no need or desire to draw any attention to myself and wish this to stay between us.  

For informational purposes I've had two different encounters that both occured roughly in the same general vicinity.  One was in the dead of winter, the other in mid July.  Roughly 2-3 miles from eachother. This was on State forest land between Rainier and Vernonia, Oregon.  Remote area with most logging roads leading into unpopulated timber land.  The first time I was by myself.  The second time I was accompanied by my 17 year old son.

I think I may have seen a track many years ago in Arizona near the Grand Canyon while hunting. Have you had an experience? I wish there was a group that met around here. I am fascinated with Bigfoot stories.

It was in the late 90's. One lone track in the middle of a muddy 4 wheeler trail. I guess I'm fascinated with it because it's a mystery. And the fact that it can go undetected for the most part being such a huge animal. I believe it highly intelligent. Ever since I was a young boy. I actually want to find some like minded people that would be interested in doing research in the field and out. Approach it scientifically. I really believe it is very possible to find the proof needed if approached the right way.

I believed it to be from a Bigfoot because it was much bigger than a human track and it was a bare foot. And it had a long stride. It was in the middle of the trail, one track. With several feet of mud in front and in back of it. No human would have that large of a stride, they would have hit mud again. Couldn't have been a bears hind foot. It was near the Grand Canyon

ya i was elk hunting in washington state when  i was in my mid 20 's when i was walking the edge of a clear cut when i stopped to pee while watering the ground i looked down where i was going and seen a very lager foot print the hair on the back of my neck strode straight up then i get smelled  something rotten i got out of there fast my hunting partner seen something walking on the other side of the clear cut on two legs  he told me it was 8 feet tall or a lil more he side it was not a bear , i have heard them whisle  and talking that i could not under stand thats about it ,

i got 2 things to tell.

1st incident; in 2006 me and a few friends were growing marijuana near HALF MOON LAKE just north of usk wa. Our feild was on the other side of the lake from the boat launch were the hill is fairly step and no one ever goes. This particular weekend we were up there to add some water with nutrients. We showed up and to our surprise there was 2 people fishing the lake in inner tubes. so we were moving around extra silently. we carryed old fire fighter water packs. we filled up our packs in the creek and headed up the hill. we watered all our plants and were heading back down the hill. i was in front. came out of a small thicket into the more open area and to my horror there was someone kneeling down near our plants smelling the freshly watered soil. i jumped behind a tree and my partner did the same. We came to the conclusion that this was some kind of DEA agent in a ghilli camouflage suit. We took off running through the step hill and the thickets.dropping our gear wich im sure is still up there. I ran so hard that i actuelly threw up. we got to the road and took off our shirts and hid them. we walked down the only road 3 miles back to our camp expecting to be arrested at any moment. BUT there was no one but the 1 car that carried the fishers. when we got back to the camp and told the others on friend starting saying 'it was big foot' at this point the only thing i knew about bigfoot was the old 80's film of the thing walking. i left the next day with the guy that was with me. we lost our share of the crop but i wasnt going to share the woods with this thing. fear.

the 2nd incident was in the same general area. we were camping with family THIS SUMMER at Browns lake. which is only 5 miles from half moon lake. 3 of us decided to to walk down the creek to see if we could fish. only about 200 yards from our camp we came across large human looking bare footprints. 1 large set and 2 smaller ones. we could see were they entered the creek and on the other side you could see were they walked out. it was in a fairly shallow part of the lake and you could see an almost natural draw, were if i was walking in that area i would come through the same area and cross. we took a few pictures of it but im not sure were they went. i will look for them.

im now a 100% believer of this creature and i know the half moon lake area is his home.
i havent told many these storys as the first one we were up to illegal activitys. not sure why i tell you this now.

I believe I have had several, and didn't realize it until October 13, 2009 when me and my husband were elk hunting. I had a gut feeling so we went up this in maintained road, we were about 200 yards from the top, he saw an elk out the drivers side running up the hill, he stopped so I could shoot, I didn't see it until it jumped onto the road man they are fast! It continued up the hill I didn't have time to shoot but we parked the truck on the road and went up after it and it was gone. When we were walking back down we were 10-15 feet from the truck, my husband and I were about 20 feet apart, he got into the truck and turned on the radio and turned it up load. I was about a foot from the tailgate and heard a scream right behind the bush next to me. There was also a horrible smell. Now I was holding my rifle, and I was scared! Needless to say I went a bit faster and got into the truck. I told my husband lets go, I told him to hurry. Now why I didn't tell him I don't know, but I went to the same spot last year and scouted, by myself and the bush it was behind is all cut out, only the branches are not cut they are ripped apart. Along the road out there are also 2 different tee pee like hunting blinds that the trees are so big that a human could not have done these, they are about 100 yards off the road up on the bank. I can let you know about other accounts tomorrow, I also have alot of emails from other people that have has encounters

Hi there!  I'm from Washington state, but I've lived in Idaho for the past 20-some odd years.   Had 2 experiences that I thought were kinda strange back in the 80's.  I'm a believer.    Have you watched any of the "Squatching with Barb and Gabby" vids on Youtube? I highly recommend them. Willing to chat if all you're getting is a bunch of junk mail from people.   I don't talk about it much because people tend to think I'm a crackpot when I tell them that I believe that sasquatch is a real thing.   Anyways, have a great day!

Incident 1:

In fact, my first auditory experience was in Big Lake, Washington. The second was in Rockport, Wa. That one was not a drawn out yell tho . More of a series of "whoops". But there was more than one "whooper". Sounded like 2 making calls back and forth.

Incident 2:

I spent a lot of time out in the woods, but my experienced happened with a carload of people. We were parked and all of us got that feeling that we were being watched. But in a very threatening way. Really evoked my flight or fight response. I just wanted to get away from there as soon as possible. I feel that it followed us as we left. Took awhile for the feeling to lose its grip.

It was that way with all of us tho. We all had that feeling that we were in the wrong place. It affected all of us in the car.

It happened in Larrabee State park. Off Chuckanut Drive. Its a drive up to the park entrance.  Happened in the general parking area . You can Google it. Washington State.

Incidents 3 & 4:
My other two experiences were auditory. I've heard the same sounds since then in others recordings-- including the Ohio Scream. Have never seen any prints-- but that may be because I wasn't looking. :-)

I think I experienced infrasonics too. In a state park in Whatcom county in washington. Creepiest feeling I've ever had in my entire life.
I'm a little surprised that you think you saw one close to Boise. Surprised but not surprised. I'm sure that they follow food sources. Plus, primates are curious. That's cool tho.

Knowing the stories dating back for years, here is a real laugh for you. Many years ago when I was just a teenager, I lived near the job core just outside of Glide Oregon.

Being a cowboy kid and always up to mischief, I found this big hairy costume that was for a big tall guy. I was in pretty good shape back in those days and could on a good day out run a deer in the brush.
Well I had me this idea about dressing up in that big hairy outfit and putting on this warewolf mask on and hanging out on the trails that the kids from this government camp were always clearing of brush. There were about 12 of them on this trail up in the heavy timber. So I did my best to scream or growl like a big bear animal. Well I never laughed so hard in all my life. Here were these kids, they saw me and screamed and went off running down the hill faster than I'd ever seen a bunch of city boys run.

To this day, the administration officials at this camp talked about the Bigfoot encounter up on that trail and the legend grew to the point that some of the locals from Roseburg and Glide Oregon would send out hunters to track down this Bigfoot  

This is the first time in many years I've ever wanted to share this with anyone.
